Interesting nochmal erklärt

The idea behind the INTERESTING conferences is simple:
a day of interesting people each talking about something that they love/hate/do/did/know/care about/obsess over to a creative, engaged, interesting audience.

We wanted to replicate the experience of clicking from one really good blog to another, ranging haphazardly across culture, sciences, arts, crafts and technology. But with the added benefit of direct contact in a relaxed, conversational setting. Presentations are short (from 3 to 20 minutes) and the only common theme is interestingness.

The first INTERESTING took place in London in 2007. The original idea was simple: provide an opportunity for local creative communities to meet and get inspired. Like the TED conferences, but less expensive and more local.

We wanted the breadth, excitement and intellectual cross-pollination of something like TED, but smaller and more casual. Not necessarily famous names, but people with relevant knowledge and enthusiasm for their topic.

Since then, we’ve done INTERESTING in London, New York, Sydney, Vancouver and Amsterdam. While some people arrive not knowing quite what to expect, almost everyone leaves with a full agenda of coffee dates and saying, “Wow! I learned a lot of cool things. Met a bunch of interesting, enthusiastic people. And I was never bored.
When’s the next one?”
